Meet the Staff
Lucy Bleau
I grew up in Calgary Alberta and took my post-secondary education in Edmonton, Alberta. I graduated from dental hygiene in 1990 and worked as a hygienist for 15 years before I switched to orthodontics. As a health care professional, I love seeing a difference we make in people's lives. It is fascinating to see patients' confidence and self-esteem grow from the time they walk into our office to when they leave with a functional, gorgeous smile. That is what makes work so fun!
My knowledge in the orthodontic field has grown considerably by attending the Damon® Orthodontic Forum every year as well as the American Association of Orthodontics Convention. Dr. Bleau, being one of the first orthodontist in Calgary using the Damon system, has given us years of experience in this most up-to-date technology. Our patients are so lucky to experience meticulous care with Dr. Bleau and be treated like friends and family in our close-knit office.
Aside from orthodontics, my greatest passion is my family. The little, everyday moments in life are so special, from spending time with my daughters, reading books, and walking the dog, to summer vacations at our cabin. My evenings revolve around Flames hockey games, but if I had a choice I would be on a sunny beach staring at palm trees and the ocean.

I wear many hats in our office, from working at the front desk and marketing our practice to the community to assisting chairside and working in the lab. I have enjoyed working in the field of dentistry for the past 30 years. Dr. Bleau’s office gives me an excellent opportunity to share with patients the vast knowledge I have gathered throughout those years. The pace of our office is slightly more laid back than some orthodontic practices, and you may find it refreshing to learn that Dr. Bleau does most of your adjustments himself. This is what makes this practice fun to be a patient in and fun to work in. We care and take time with each patient.
I believe we should never stop learning, and I am constantly upgrading my skills. My education includes an Expanded Skills Dental Assistant Certificate, an Adult Educator Certificate that allows me to teach dental and orthodontic assisting, and a CPR Certificate.
I have a lovely family that enjoys camping in the summer and downhill skiing in the winter. Besides work and family, I have a passion for travel and have seen ten European countries in the last five years. I am known for planning the beginnings and ends of trips, with the middle being a true adventure!
