Meet Dr. Michael Bleau

Orthodontics is an amazing profession where I can make a significant difference in a person’s life just by changing their smile. It makes my job very rewarding and fulfilling.

My office motto is treating every patient as an individual, and my team spends quality time with our patients and gives them the individualized care they deserve. They take the time to get to know the person behind the treatment.

I attended the University of Alberta, graduating with my Doctor of Dental Surgery, and have been practicing orthodontics since 1996. I moved to Calgary in 1997 where I established Accent Orthodontics.

My wife is originally from Calgary, and we married in 1997. We have two children, Brittany and Tashi, and our little pup, Sam. I was born in Vanguard, Saskatchewan, and grew up in Bonnyville, Alberta. Growing up in the country, and particularly on a farm, has made me a person who loves and appreciates nature. I’m a fisherman who loves deep fishing in Prince Rupert every summer.

Aside from fishing, I’m a real outdoor kind of guy. Our family has a cottage in Sicamous, BC, where we love to spend the summers. I enjoy jet-skiing, boating, water-skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing; we can never get enough! My other passion is hockey. I have played since junior high and belong to a men’s hockey league in Calgary and a dental league that gets together every Friday. Growing up in Bonnyville, my team is the Edmonton Oilers, though my wife is a big Flames fan, which makes life interesting! I am also in the process of building a Cessna airplane. Perhaps when it’s finished I’ll be flying on my own up to my satellite practice in Smithers!
